About us

Although now relocated to North Carolina, Kristin began breeding and showing Golden Retrievers in 1980 while growing up in Connecticut. She and her family produced many champions in conformation, including specialty winning and group winning dogs. But, more importantly, their puppies became beloved new family members throughout New England.
Kristin showed in the junior showmanship ring and then moved on to apprentice for five professional dog handlers for over 10 years, all the while actively breeding and showing many Goldens. This experience provided a valuable education in the proper care and rearing of dogs.
In 1997, Kristin started Foxwoods Kennels and became a professional dog handler. She has won 4 all-breed Best In Shows on an English Cocker Spaniel named BIS, BISS, CH. Sunnyside Skylark PlaybyPlay, "Buster." She piloted him to Number 1 English Cocker Spaniel all systems. She has won many specialties, Group 1's, and Group placements on both Golden Retrievers and English Cocker Spaniels, won Best Of Breed at a National Specialty, won 10 Group 1's and many specialties on an English Cocker Spaniel named BISS, CH. Argina Wild Card, Wylie; and achieved over 50 championships on her dogs.
Early in her career, Kristin became enamored with the English Cocker Spaniel breed. She finished her own personal dog and housemate, BISS, CH. Argina Wild Card, to his AKC championship. Throughout his show career, Wylie had many specialty wins, group placements, and later he went on to become the Number 2 Dog in the Country, with 10 Group 1 wins, many other Group Placements, many Specialty and Supported entry Best of Breed wins.
However, we are more than show dogs - Our mission is to provide puppies that are beautiful examples of English Cockers and Golden Retrievers - bred and raised to be the perfect family pet! Our small hobby kennel produces healthy, typey, sound minded and bodied quality English Cockers and Golden Retrievers. We are proud members of the English Cocker Spaniel Club of America.
At Foxwoods, we are always ready to spend time with newcomers to these wonderful breeds as our goal is to find the right puppy to fit your needs and particular situation. Our English Cockers and Golden Retrievers are a good fit for children or for adults who are looking for a loving companion.

Do not hesitate to call or e-mail for more information. Kristin also encourages you to visit and spend time with the parents and relatives of our latest litter of puppies. Get to know us and be a part of our extended family of English Cocker and Golden Retriever owners.
